Minion Roll Call: Prinny

Minion Roll Call, the segment where we look at known minions in the realm of anything geek and take a look at them in detail. First minion on the list, the adorable Prinnies from the Disgaea series.

Prinnes are the henchmen used in combat, usually like the pawns in a chess game. However, they once had their own game where they were protagonists, but they still filled the role of minion nonetheless. So let's see what makes them tick.

Loyalty Factor: 5/5

Prinnes obey their masters quite faithfully, especially when they are being terrorized by their superiors. They are often quite casual to their masters, but they never think of going against them. If they do, they know they will explode. And if it's one things Prinnies fear, it's their explosions.

Intimidation Factor: 2/5

Prinnes are too funny, so there's no way to find them the least bit intimidating. However, the fact that they are living explosives makes them a viable threat, but only if one is careless enough to throw them or drop them. Other than that, Prinnies are seen as a faithful companion in battle, but rarely makes foes quiver with fear.

Memorable Factor: 5/5

If Prinny is known for anything, it's for being a main mascot in the Disgaea series. Their constant humorous personality, quirky behavior, and other attributes make them quite the memorable characters. Not just that, but these minions are the very few that are famous enough to not only be the mascots of their own series, but to be protagonists of their own game.

That's all for today, until next time!

Villain Breakdown: Basco Ta Jolokia

For the first post, and the first Villain Breakdown as well, I'm going to take a look at one of Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger's main villains, Basco.

Basco's background is quite of a typical villain. He used to be an ally to the main character until he betrayed him for any reason. In this case, Basco was a member of the Red Pirates, along with Gokaiger's Marvelous (Gokai Red) and betrayed him in order to get the greatest treasure in the universe for himself. Basco has the power to steal previous rangers' keys and use their power for himself. Many times he has battled the Gokaigers for control of the Ranger Keys, a battle yet to be finished.

Badass Factor: 3/5

Basco seems pretty badass now, post transformation. However, at the start he seemed a bit wimpy due to having his sidekick Sally (the annoying monkey) fight his battles for him, as well as using the ranger keys to do his bidding as well. However, this doesn't take away from the fact that he was pretty smart about things. Basco knew how to pick his fights, so he pretty much had the Gokaigers at the top of their game at all times.

Intimidation Factor: 4/5

Other than the fact that he's a space pirate working for a galactic empire, Basco doesn't seem that fearful physically. Not only that, but Sally seems pretty silly as well. However, his smarts are what seem intimidating at times, due to his tenacity and cunning nature. Then again, there was something about Basco I'm forgetting...oh yeah! He can f*cking transform!

Now, that's more like it! That's a bit more intimidating than his human form. Once able to transform, Basco brought fear to the Gokaigers with his new powers, being able to defeat them easily and taking on their full arsenal with minimal damage. Once transformed, Basco can seem pretty much intimidating. But in his human form, not too much.

Personality Factor: 5/5

Let's face it, this guy's a dick and he's not ashamed to show it off. He constantly taunts Captain Marvelous on his latest achievements, newfound skills, or how he is simply stronger than the rest. Not only that, but Basco's smarts make him survive against even stronger foes. And even if he has to do the bidding of others at times, he still finds a way to keep to his own agenda and not care what happens. Not only that, but he's practically one of the best antagonists in this series (besides Barizorg).

I think that's all for the initial edition of Villain Breakdown. More to come soon!

Welcome!

Welcome to "The Geek's Dungeon!" This blog will contain anything geek that I can think of. Originally, it was going to be a blog chronicling my adaptation to the current world of gaming, but I decided to expand it to other geek stuff just for fun. I will be posting articles such as Hero Analysis, Villain Breakdown, VS (where I take 2 characters and pit them against each other), and many other things.

So there's not much for me to say, other than welcome! I hope you enjoy this blog.
